Every June visitors gather to view the naturally occurring phenomenon of fireflies flashing synchronously. This amazing sight is influenced by environmental conditions, therefore it is hard to predict the exact date and time the fireflies will appear. Happening near the beautiful Elkmont Campground in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the popularity of the event increases significantly each year.
